A very important message to you:
Design is incredibly important. Design is the first thing that a person sees when they walk into your store, or when they open your website. The first impression is everything. That is why at Piculia Design, every single element of our designs are considered. If your website, your logo, your store front, your branding, doesn't wow a customer, then it can be improved.
Whether designing a business card, or an entire website, you are promised the best quality. It is my philosophy as a graphic and web designer to create something unique for my clients. All too often in the design world, particularly in the web design field, a client will approach a freelance designer, and sometimes even a firm, wanting to obtain a web presence. The client sometimes pays into the thousands of dollars for a website they think has been hand-made, with a unique design. This is not often the case.
What happens all too often is that the freelance designer or design firm download a template that somebody else has put countless hours into developing, and they install it on your website. They then change the logo, fiddle with the colours a bit, and presto! Do you really want to spend your hard-earned money on something that is essentially a clone of potentially thousands of other websites? You wouldn't go into a five-star restaurant, eat a beautiful and expensive meal, and then give all the credit to the waiter, would you?
This is a growing trend in the industry, and while it can be a good business model for the designer, it is always a terrible one for the client. That is why I always hand-build websites from scratch unless explicitly requested otherwise. It allows me to design websites that you will not see anywhere else. Your customers will remember the websites that Piculia Design builds because they are truly one of a kind.
I carry this philosophy across all realms of design. I thank you deeply for reading this. It is incredibly important to me. Design is my passion and I want to spread true design as much as possible.
